Here's a look at our Freshwater Fishing Season

March

Spring is just about here calling for the snows to melt. The wilderness is about to undergo the warmths of spring and its a time to go fishing! The alevins and fry become active and so do the aggressive feeding mouths of fresh run cutthroat trouts. It is a perfect time of year to break out the light weight fly rod and toss those minnow patterns to these eager fish.

Okay! Your into something more aggressive than that? Change up the light weight gear for something a little bigger and let us guide you to some great northern B.C. steelhead fishing! The middle of March is time for spring trophy size Steelies on the fly or with float fishing gear. Whatever your preference, we like to mix it up.

April

April is a great time to hook in to a trophy size steelhead on the fly. Temperatures are better during this month and water conditions begin to vary as winters snow melts high in the mountains. Increased water temperatures and higher water flows bring in great runs of spring steelhead and cutthroat trout. If fly fishing is not your thing, we are okay with that. Try float-fishing, back-trolling plugs or spinner fishing for these trophy steelies. A great season for good photography and video. Make your reservations as soon as you can. April is prime time and dates available do not last long.

May

Spring weather is now in the region and steelhead & trout fishing excellent at this time. By mid month, we are focusing towards early runs of Chinook salmon. These spring chinooks are very aggressive & strong and will take you into your backing or strip line from your reel within seconds.

June

Chinook (kings) season is here now and fresh runs of fish are grouping together as they make their journey up the rivers. Test your skills with one of these big brutes with your spey rod and you'll be sure to get fired up. This is a great time of the year to experience both a freshwater and saltwater fishing holiday package. These packages are the most popular trips we offer. You spend a day or two on the ocean fishing for chinooks and/or halibut, rockfish, lingcod, yellow eye and crab. You then spend a few days on a coastal river angling for fresh runs of chinooks (kings) .

July

Fishing packages during this time of year are our most popular of all. Join us for variety filled fishing adventures, angling for giant chinook salmon, scrappy chums, pinks, sockeye, and maybe a few early season coho salmon. If you are planning a fishing trip with the kids then this is the best time of the year to get them hooked up! Try a combination package where you spend a day or two on the ocean and a few days drift fishing one of the coastal rivers. July is a great time of the year to plan your summer fishing holidays. Reserve as soon as possible. July is prime time west coast fishing at its best.
