Here's a look at our Saltwater Fishing Season
May
Chinook fishing season starts in early May with springers heading into many of the local rivers to stage for summer spawning. These early running Chinook salmon are feisty bitters and generally hit the bait extremely hard with good long runs. Halibut fishing is in full swing at this time with good catches of chicken size (15-25lbs.) fish. Pacific Cod, Yellow Eye, Lingcod, Rockfish, Dungeness Crab and prawns are also great at this time of year.
June
Summer run Chinooks (Kings) start entering the bays at this time feeding vigorously before they ascend their natal rivers to lay their eggs. These Chinook in June are the larger run of fish we see coming in to the rivers and fishing can be spectacular when large schools are staging in the area. Chinook fishing peaks through the later month of June and well into July. We start to fish for early blue-back Coho (Silvers) by late June with some fish reaching 8 - 10lbs already. Pink salmon fishing is better towards late June as well. Halibut fishing is in full swing at this time with more of the larger females sliding up on the flats and humps to feed. Pacific Cod, Yellow Eye, Lingcod, Rockfish, Dungeness Crab and prawns are also great at this time of year.

July
Summer run Chinooks (Kings) are at there prime time during the first few weeks of July. Chinook fishing continues through the later month of July on the outer coastal waters and continues in to the early weeks of August. Chum salmon (Dogs) are now sniffing their way to their home streams and are just a blast to catch both on the ocean and in the rivers!. These fish love to go crazy and will give you a run for your money. Coho (Silvers) are plentiful on the outer waters and provide spectacular saltwater fly fishing opportunities with bucktails, clouser minnows and deceiver patterns. Pink salmon (Humpy's) are also in large numbers and also provide great saltwater fly fishing. These fish are very exciting for the younger in-experienced fishers. Halibut fishing is in full swing at this time and generally be found all along the inland coast, inlets and bays. Pacific Cod, Yellow Eye, Lingcod, Rockfish, Dungeness Crab and prawns are also great at this time of year.
August
August just means time for BIG northern Coho (Silvers). The Chinook, Pinks and Chum are still available but we tend to focus on the Coho and bottom fisheries. As the later weeks of August approach so do the BIG northern Coho salmon (Silvers). This time of the year is absolutely spectacular here with great weather and fun filled days of catching salmon and bottom fish. Pacific Cod, Yellow Eye, Lingcod, Rockfish, Dungeness Crab and prawns are also great at this time of year.

September
Coho, Coho, Coho! This is a great time to hook into some of those BIG northern Coho salmon that this region is so well known for. We like to entice them with big saltwater flies and light tackle. These Coho are aggressively feeding, gaining extra nutrition for their fall spawning period. Halibut & Cod fishing is very good as we again focus on fishing for them as the salmon fishing tapers off near the later month of September. Pacific Cod, Yellow Eye, Lingcod, Rockfish, Dungeness Crab and prawns continue to be good at this time of year.
October
Pacific Halibut, Pacific Cod, Yellow Eye, Lingcod, Rockfish, Dungeness Crab and prawn fishing is our focus during the first two weeks of October. We then close down the ocean fishing for the winter months by the end of October.
