It's time to Discover Big Northern Coho Salmon Fishing in British Columbia
Whether fly-fishing or hooking these silver brutes on light tackle, you'll be sure to have a time of your life. Coho salmon are well known for their cart-wheeling acrobatics, quick sporadic runs and eager to take down a flashy fly or buck-tail. Try fluttering spoons or spinners, a colourful marabou jig or floating some cured eggs.
When is Best for fishing Coho Salmon?
If you are wondering when the best times are for fishing coho salmon, we can tell you that to! Right now (August) and until the end of summer is perfect timing for hooking up with some wild and crazy coho. Coho Salmon begin fishing well from July 1st until the end of October. Our primetime for fly-fishing in the local rivers is best from mid August until the end of the salmon season.
What Size do These Coho Salmon Get?
Coho Salmon fished throughout the north coast waters and rivers average in the 8 - 12 pound range with many of the big brutes pushing 15 - 30 pounds.
